P Jeganathan is a wildlife biologist working with the Nature Conservation Foundation. He has spent years researching one of the rarest birds in the world, the critically endangered Jerdon's Courser. He is interested in disseminating the values and services rendered by the natural ecosystem to younger generations and general public. To accomplish this, he writes popular science articles in Tamil and English. He is also interested in citizen science and he works to involve public participation in documenting birds and seasonal changes in common trees. He is an avid birder and crazy eBirder. He is not on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram but he is a prolific WikiDonor.

At Nature inFocus, 2017, he spoke, with sparkling wit, about two critically endangered birds - Jerdon's Courser and Himalayan Quail, and his long-term research and conservation effort to save the Jerdon's Courser (since 2000). His talk on ongoing effort to find a suitable habitat of the supposedly extinct Himalayan Quail drew many laughs, and also featured, pop culture references that left the audience in splits.
